Abstract

The techniques of established equivalence, reduction, variation, pure borrowing, linguistic compression, kompensation, explicitation, implisitation, transposition, modulation, generalization, discursive creation, addition and adaptation do not result in shift in the Indonesian subtitle. Whereas the literal techniques resulted in speech act shift in Indonesian subtitles and loss of speech act in Indonesian subtitle was caused by the deletion technique.
